Color Me Cute!

Now that I am starting to get things unpacked Meghan can once again enjoy her table. Today she found my pens in my teacher bag and decided she wanted to use those instead of her crayons.

I had some foam letters at school so I decided to put them on the journal for Meghan. (It says Meghan if you can't tell). I was impressed that when I gave her the journal this afternoon she recognized her name right away saying "MeMe". That is what she calls herself.

Big Girl!

Meghan got her big girl bed today. She was excited to play on it but didn't want to go to sleep. She looks so much bigger on it than I thought she would.

She also discovered the play structure in our backyard.

She can even climb up to the slide by herself.

Meghan especially enjoyed the swing. She kept giggling and saying "Wee".

Such fun!

It's been a while...

This has past week has been quite busy for us. It was my prep week for school. The kiddos come tomorrow. We closed on our house on Monday and moved this weekend. As soon as we get unpacked you'll get to see some pictures of our new house.

Fill'er Up

Meghan loves purses. She finds my purses in the closet and then wears them around the house. Today she filled the purse with Little People.

The Discovery of Stickers

Meghan discovered stickers shortly after we moved here to Texas. When we go grocery shopping the bagger always gives her a sticker. She loves it and spends the car ride home removing the sticker and sticking it in different places. Tonight while she was eating dinner she kept pointing and patting her stomach. She had noticed some stickers on the table and wanted one stuck on her belly. So, I gave her a pink star. She almost immediately removed the sticker from her belly and stuck it on her nose. She was so proud of herself saying "ti no" (translation: I put the sticker on my nose).

Mowers and Crazy Outfits

This is one of those pictures I'll bring out to show Meghan's first boyfriend. She loves to wear other peoples shoes and now socks. She wouldn't let me put her shorts on but was more than happy to run around looking like this.

This weekend we went to Lowes to look for a refrigerator. Meghan found the riding lawn mowers and was happy. They were way more fun than the fridges.

We'll Miss You Millie

Dearest Millie,

You left the world today. You were such a great cat. You had seven toes on each paw and your ankle joint was turned so it looked like you were always prancing. You had the softest fur of any cat.

You were so patient with Meghan and she loved you so much. You never scratched her or tried to bite her, even when she was learning to pet you. She said your name, "Mil", before she said "mama". Whenever we came home you would be waiting for us. You were a loyal and loving cat.

Thanks for being our cat. We will miss you.

Our Little Tree Hugger...

...or should I say tree sitter. Meghan found a tree that had a seat carved out into it.

And how could we go to Colorado without going on the Coors beer tour? We couldn't. Kevin did it as a kid and wanted to do it as an adult. The tank in the picture is the first one they used to brew beer.

Visiting Friends

After visiting Breckenridge we went to visit Kristin and Phil in Colorado Springs. We went to Garden of the Gods for a mini hike. It is a place where there are all sorts of red rock formations. It seems so out of place with the green landscape surrounding it.

Kevin and I got a break when Meghan decided hanging out with Phil and Kristin was pretty cool.

Then Meghan wanted to help Phil mow the lawn but she settled for watering it instead.

After an eventful day Meghan settled in with Kristin and Phil for a bedtime story. It was so nice to have friends that were so willing to play with Meghan.

Alpine Slide

While in Colorado we spent a day and night in Breckenridge. Meghan must have walked two miles around town. She did so well without a stroller. After dinner on Saturday we walked around main street. Meghan stopped to sit on every stores step. She would sit down and then cross her legs. We tried to get a picture but every time we took the camera or our phone out she stood up.


During the day we rode the gondola up to the "Fun Zone". We decided to take Meghan on the Alpine Slide. Unfortunately, to ride the Alpine Slide you have to be two years old. So, like any good father Kevin lied about Meghan's age so she could ride the slide. Here she and Kevin were waving to the camera as the lift took us up to the top of the slide. You can see the slide below.

I went down the slide first so I could get a picture of Meghan and Kevin coming down. Meghan loved it. She was saying "Weee" the whole time.

As we were leaving Breckenridge we stopped at the continental divide. The elevation was 11.539 feet. It was only 50 degrees, on August first. Meghan and I were freezing but we really wanted this picture.
