A brief visit from friends
Two long lost friends came to visit this past Sunday morning. My friends Michael and Erin graced us with their presense at 1am. After a long day of driving from the East Coast, they stopped here in Oklahoma City for some sleep. They got up and left a few hours later to continue their drive to California. It was great to see them even though it was only for a little while. Plus they were able to meet the most important person, Meghan.

A President's Day post by Kevin!
I love President’s Day. We now have forty four Presidents and therefore we need more than one day to celebrate them. Today was a nice day off for me. Lauren had to work today and she took the baby to daycare so I could sleep in. I woke up at nine which I now consider sleeping in. After a few hours, I picked up Meghan from the daycare. We then spent the rest of the day together playing and napping. It was a great day with my daughter. She is becoming so alert now and constantly looking around. Additionally, she is very talkative.

And Now the Title of the Blog Makes Sense
Today was an interesting day. Kevin called me at work at about 2:00. He said he was picking Meghan up because some bad storms were coming through. Okay, no big deal. Kevin called back a few minutes later saying he was going to trade cars with me because of the hail. Just a minute after he left from dropping the keys off the tornado sirens go off. Our principal comes on the intercom and says we won't be taking shelter yet. Great, now I have a class full of 2nd graders that are nearly in tears. I start to read a book to the class and the principal comes back on to say we will be taking shelter. My class was great during all of this. They took cover and were very calm.
Fast forward to 3:10 when school is supposed to get out. The bus riders couldn't leave because it wasn't safe. Finally at about 4:15 the busses left, as did I. This whole time Kevin was at home with the baby, taking shelter and watching the news.
There ended up being one tornado that touched down very close to us. It was about half a mile away. The roof of the Target I shop at collapsed. The giant metal sign in the parking lot is now a twisted heap of metal. There are lots of homes and businesses that are damaged. But we are okay.

We have a roller!
Just when she starts to tolerate tummy time she discovers rolling. No more tummy time for Meghan! And what a chatterbox she is.

Three Months!
Yesterday we took Meghan to have three month pictures done. This was much easier than when we took Christmas pictures. Meghan was happy! She is smiling a lot more and has so much more personality.

We were trying to get her to smile. The little stinker would be all smiles until she heard the click of the camera.

I Finally Did It
Well, it took me three months but I have finally created a blog to chronical our journey with Meghan. We are so far from all of our friends and family. Hopefully this helps you feel a little closer to us.
