Weird Attachments

Meghan is attached to some strange things. Anytime I take out the broom or stick vac she goes nuts until she gets a turn. She actually does a pretty good job running the stick vac. The broom is a whole different ballgame.

Is it going to be curly or not? I can't figure out what her hair is going to do. If I brush it when it is wet it will stay straight for a little while but then the ends start to curl out. This is what it usually looks like. I'm sure people think I need to brush her hair, it looks so disheveled all the time.

The pink bug towel. This is Meghan's most recent attachment. After she takes a bath she will not let you take the towel away. She wanders around the house holding it around herself. You either have to trick her into letting you take it off her or deal with a major meltdown.

Sleeping Baby

Meghan fell asleep in the stroller today while we were shopping. This is the first time she has fallen asleep in the stroller. She must have been really tired.

Yesterday Meghan and I went to a playdate at a splashpark. I joined a playgroup on Meet-Up so Meghan and I could make friends. The ladies in the group were all great; we are looking forward to more playdates.

Climbing

If Meghan doesn't have anything to climb on she'll make something. Sometimes she climbs over Kevin's legs repeatedly. Other times, like tonight, she makes something to climb on. She had pushed the ottoman away from the chair so she could do this.

Silly Faces

Meghan, being her usual self and making silly faces for the camera.

Pigtails and the Park

Meghan had pigtails in her hair today. She finally left them in too. I couldn't get a good picture of them but I love her eyes in this picture.

We went to the park this afternoon because it wasn't terribly hot. This playground was great because everything was fairly low to the ground and there weren't any gaps Meghan could fall out of. She enjoyed the tunnels the most.

The Best Day!

Kevin's back... and Meghan said Mommy! About a year ago Meghan said mama. It was once and then I never heard it again. I knew she was completely capable of making the m sound because she would do it all the time in her baby babbles. She has used the word Dada for a while now and calls Kevin it all the time. I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to say Mama. This morning I was making Meghan breakfast and she came into the kitchen and clear as day said Mommy. Yay!!!

Eating in a Pot

Meghan was refusing to eat dinner tonight. I've had a headache all day and didn't want to fight her. So, when she drug out a pot from the kitchen and sat in it with her dinner I wasn't about to make her move. She even had seconds.

This one is just for fun...playing hide and seek. Meghan was hiding behind the rocking chair.

Licking it Clean

This is a crummy quality picture but I had to snap it fast without Meghan noticing.

I was really craving ice cream after dinner tonight. Meghan is going through a phase where she wants her own food. She is no longer happy with bites of your food. Knowing this and not really wanting her to eat a lot of ice cream right before bed I put about two tablespoons of ice cream in a bowl and gave her a spoon. She sat on the floor on her towel to eat it. Meghan was doing a great job using her spoon and actually getting all the ice cream in her mouth. When she was finished she kept asking for "More please". I told her it was all gone and there wasn't any more. This was when she resorted to licking the bowl.

Harder than I Thought

I need a profile picture of Meghan for a project I want to do. It doesn't have to be a high quality picture, just a profile. This one was the best I could get today. Meghan either wanted to look at the camera or in the complete opposite direction. I really thought it would be easy. I was very wrong.

Happy Father's Day!

We had spaghetti for dinner. Cleaning noodle bits out of a high chair is no fun, so Meghan got to eat on a towel without any clothes on. Bath time was fun...she had noodles between her toes!

Dallas World Aquarium

We went to the Dallas World Aquarium today. It isn't really an aquarium. It is a rain forest with some other exhibits. Meghan loved it. She pointed out animals and said "Hi" and "Bye, bye...see ya" to them.

Here she is pointing out the river otter. Shortly after this we were looking at the turtles and a bird pooped on her arm. She looked at it and said "eeeeeeeew".

Meghan and I as we were leaving the aquarium.

Then we decided to stop and take a walk around SMU (Southern Methodist University). It is a beautiful campus. We ended our outings with a stop at a burger shop just off campus. What a great day!

Lego Chair

Meghan and Kevin were building a Lego tower tonight when Meghan decided it was a much better chair.

Too Tired to Play

Meghan fell asleep while playing with her baby today. I guess that's what happens when you wake up at 5 am.

The Best 69 Cents

Meghan and I went to the mall this morning to play on the indoor playscape. It is just too hot to play outside. When we first got to the mall there were some kids that were being way too rough, and were to big to be there, so we wandered the mall a little. I stopped in a store to browse and Meghan found this hat and was in love. She cried when I gave it to the cashier to pay. The hat was marked at $3.99. I debated paying that because, as you can see, the hat is too big but I gave in. When the cashier rung it up it was 69 cents. I actually asked to make sure it wasn't a mistake. Meghan wore the hat almost the entire day until she put it into her water table and I had to take it away to dry it. Periodically this afternoon she would walk into the laundry room and say "Mine?" with the most pitiful voice. And....She is finally keeping her sunglasses on.

Tutu

This is a totally crummy picture but I'm too tired to fix it. Meghan and I went to the outlet mall today. She needed pajamas. These ones just happened to be on the extra 60% off rack. When we got home I put the pajamas in Meghan's closet. A little while later she came out of her room with the tutu. She wore it over her outfit all day. The only way I got her to take it off to go to sleep was to help her put it on her baby doll.

A while back I had made Meghan a puffy tutu. She wouldn't come within 5 feet of the thing. So I thought that since she was wearing this pink one today maybe she'd also wear the one I made her. Nope! When I took it out she said "Top it." Yay, she's pairing words together. I would rather they be something other that stop it though.

Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't.

Meghan has never been a good eater. She struggled nursing, showed some interest in purees, and solid food has been hit and miss. Today she decided to eat something besides gardenburgers and waffles. Well, she did have her waffles, two of them in fact, for breakfast. Then for lunch she ate a taco. She wouldn't eat the soft taco I made for her. Instead while I was getting water she stole my taco, wouldn't give it back to me, and ate the whole thing. Then we had some strawberries for a snack. Dinner was leftover breakfast burrito which she ate and then ate a bowl of cereal. And......she slept in till 8:20 this morning, thank you dark curtains. I'm thinking she's going through a growth spurt.

Missing Millie

Meghan missed her Millie. She loved on her once she got to see her again. The cat is so much more patient with Meghan than she is with anyone else.

Water Table

We got Meghan a water table yesterday. She loves to splash in the cat's bowl and any glasses of water you happen to leave around so we figured she'd like this. She played with it for a long while yesterday before dinner and was not happy when she had to come inside.

Cleaning and Leaving

We went up to Oklahoma to clean our house yesterday.

I took a picture of the house numbers to remember Meghan's first address.

And of course little miss was more interested in playing than sleeping last night. Notice her evil eye.

The Move Part 2

Unloading the truck was tiring. Meghan and Kevin needed a nap.

Meghan helped put her crib back together. She was able to get the allen wrench in the hole. Her fine motor skills are very strong for her age.

On her 19 month birthday, Meghan was enjoying having her toys unpacked.

And today, caught in the act. Meghan pushed a box over to the counter to get a "by", aka bite, of her leftover lunch.

The Move Part 1

The truck...26 feet. Kevin thought it was going to be too big.
We filled the truck to the brim. I never would have thought we had that much stuff. It just doesn't seem like it is that much when it is in your house. We packed the truck on Saturday with the help of a friend and his two kids.

On Sunday we left to drive to Frisco. Meghan pulled a diaper out of the diaper bag, I guess she wanted to be changed.

I tried to take a picture of the Welcome to Texas sign while I was driving. It turned out pretty good. Kevin was driving the truck in front of me.

And we're Oklahomans again...

...but only because we need to move this mess to Texas, Frisco to be specific.

We're Texans

Meghan's first night as a Texan is being spent in a hotel. We drove down this evening to meet Kevin who was already here. Meghan was great during the drive.

Cheeseball

Meghan was kissing her "Mil" and giggling this evening while I was trying to finish packing. We will be moving this weekend so I probably won't update for a few days. I will take pictures and update as soon as I can.

It's Coming....

We'll be moving on June 5th.
