Oregon Trip Part 3

Me (Lauren), my brother Alex, and my mom Frances with Meghan.

Meghan loving her boat ride.

Still loving it.

Kevin and I on the tube. It was a ton of fun and the water wasn't nearly as cold as I thought it would be.

Oregon Trip Part 2

More beach fun.
She loved playing in the sand.

A little confused about having her feet in the water. I'm sure her feet sinking in the sand was a strange feeling.

Kevin had the great idea to put Meghan's name and the year in the sand. Meghan really wanted to play in the sand so trying to get her to look at the camera was a challenge.

Oregon Trip Part 1

We went to Oregon this last week. It was Meghan's first plane ride. She did pretty well. We had to take 3 flights to get to Oregon. She slept on the first one, only screamed on descent on the second one, and was very good on the third one.

She said Mama!

She finally did it, she said Mama. Whether or not it was in context is up for debate. I left the room yesterday to cook dinner and she started fussing and saying Mama. When I came back she stopped, I left again and she said it again. So to me that was in context and I am counting it. Kevin says she was just babbling. (I think he is just jealous and wanted her to say Dada first.) I am now determined to try to get it on video.

Even more proof of her saying it in context: I put her back down this morning to get some more sleep. When she woke up she was babbling and playing in her crib. She started saying Mama so I went in there and she started laughing. She knows what she's doing!

Like Father Like Daughter

Kevin, Meghan, and I went to bricktown today for lunch. Bricktown is in downtown Oklahoma City. It is the main entertainment district where there is a ballpark that the Oklahoma Redhawks play in. They are a AAA minor league team. In front of the stadium there is a statue of native Oklahoman Johnny Bench. We thought the two pictures below were cute.

This is Kevin as a baby watching, actually crying, while Johnny Bench is at bat for the Cincinnati Reds.

Here is Meghan with her daddy in front of the Johnny Bench statue. It may be hard to tell but Meghan is actually smiling.

She's growing too fast...

I was recently looking at some pictures of Meghan from just a month or so ago. I can't believe how much she has changed in just that short amount of time. She has gotten quite good at rolling and scooting around. She scoots backwards and can pretty much roll wherever she wants to go but still isn't showing signs of crawling forwards. She has become very vocal and does not have a volume control. She "talks" all the time and it is so loud. We were at the bookstore yesterday and you could hear her across the store.

It was so hot this weekend, around 90. So we decided to get Meghan a kiddie pool. She thought it was great. She splashed, and tried to flip on her belly in the pool, oops! It is often hard to catch a picture of Meghan doing anything other than smiling (yeah I know, life is rough). I thought her expression in this picture was funny. She was looking at daddy.

And here is our little roller. She has discovered that rolling under the swing and making it swing by pulling on the straps is a hoot.
