Our Little Tree Hugger...

...or should I say tree sitter. Meghan found a tree that had a seat carved out into it.

And how could we go to Colorado without going on the Coors beer tour? We couldn't. Kevin did it as a kid and wanted to do it as an adult. The tank in the picture is the first one they used to brew beer.

Visiting Friends

After visiting Breckenridge we went to visit Kristin and Phil in Colorado Springs. We went to Garden of the Gods for a mini hike. It is a place where there are all sorts of red rock formations. It seems so out of place with the green landscape surrounding it.

Kevin and I got a break when Meghan decided hanging out with Phil and Kristin was pretty cool.

Then Meghan wanted to help Phil mow the lawn but she settled for watering it instead.

After an eventful day Meghan settled in with Kristin and Phil for a bedtime story. It was so nice to have friends that were so willing to play with Meghan.

Alpine Slide

While in Colorado we spent a day and night in Breckenridge. Meghan must have walked two miles around town. She did so well without a stroller. After dinner on Saturday we walked around main street. Meghan stopped to sit on every stores step. She would sit down and then cross her legs. We tried to get a picture but every time we took the camera or our phone out she stood up.


During the day we rode the gondola up to the "Fun Zone". We decided to take Meghan on the Alpine Slide. Unfortunately, to ride the Alpine Slide you have to be two years old. So, like any good father Kevin lied about Meghan's age so she could ride the slide. Here she and Kevin were waving to the camera as the lift took us up to the top of the slide. You can see the slide below.

I went down the slide first so I could get a picture of Meghan and Kevin coming down. Meghan loved it. She was saying "Weee" the whole time.

As we were leaving Breckenridge we stopped at the continental divide. The elevation was 11.539 feet. It was only 50 degrees, on August first. Meghan and I were freezing but we really wanted this picture.

A Little Preview

Since it is almost 9:30 and Meghan still isn't asleep you will only get to see a preview of our Colorado trip. There is more to come...

Operation No Paci

Tonight was night one without the pacifier. Meghan doesn't use the pacifier in the daytime, only at night. But, she is very attached to it when she is sleepy. She calls it her bite. Tonight when I put her in her crib we had a little conversation that went like this...

Meghan: Bite?

Me: The pacifier went bye bye because you are a big girl and you don't need it any more.

Meghan: Bite bye bye.

Me: Yes, it went bye bye.

Meghan: Dada. bite?

Me: No, Dada doesn't have your pacifier.

Meghan: Wock (aka, rock)

So, I rocked her to sleep. I tried leaving her in her crib to fall asleep on her own. She was talking to herself in an incredibly loud voice, and then started crying. At least she didn't try to climb out of the crib tonight. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully she doesn't wake up too much.

Tonight Meghan was helping me. This picture looks a little suspicious. Is she playing with the cable box?

Nope, she was dusting behind it. She actually dusted the entire cabinet on her own and then tried to sweep the kitchen. Such a helpful little girl.

Yesterday we went to a playdate. Meghan was enjoying the swing but for some reason she ducked the entire time she was on it.

Fighting Nap Time

This is what happens when you refuse to nap. You find a pacifier hiding in your toys and fall asleep on the floor.

Corn and Makeup

Meghan tried some corn on the cob tonight. The look on her face says it all. She didn't like it one bit.

Yesterday in the 30 seconds it took to rinse my hair Meghan got into my concealer stick and colored on the toilet seat with it. (I have no idea why this picture won't turn the right direction.)

She also colored all over her face with it.
