Petting Zoo

Meghan went with her friend to a birthday party today. There was a petting zoo and as you can see Meghan enjoyed feeding the goats a bottle.

"Card Full"

I guess when the memory card in your camera reads "card full" it's time to upload pictures. My card holds over a thousand pictures but it hadn't really been that long since I uploaded. I like to hold onto things, especially memories. For me pictures are treasured memories. I have a consuming fear that I will loose all of my pictures and memories. Maybe this is because our hard drive died a few years ago and took hundreds of pictures with it, including my wedding photographs. Now I have pictures in at least two places. They are stored on my camera until I have uploaded them to the computer and saved them onto our portable hard drive that we keep in a fire safe.

I probably should get started making and printing digital scrapbooks. Sadly, I haven't even started Meghan's baby book. I do have a folder of favorite pictures but that is as far as it has gone. I think I need to set small goals so it doesn't seem like such a duanting task. Maybe then I can actually get it started and eventually finished. It just seems like such a huge project right now.

Back to the present:

As if the four snow days we had last week weren't enough we had another one and a half this week. This really wouldn't be such a big deal if we didn't live in Texas. This picture is actually from last Friday. We got about 8 inches of snow. It was a beautiful powder, perfect for skiing, not so good for building a snowman. Meghan was bummed that she couldn't make a snowman. The snow kept falling apart in her hands.

She couldn't wait to get out in it. Once she got to the edge of the snow she was like the kid at the pool that just touches their toes to the water and then inches in slowly.

It didn't take too long for her to start stomping around, and then running to "the boys house" (our neighbors down the street) to play. She ate quite a bit of snow too. Don't worry, it was clean snow.

Is it spring yet?!?

Isn't Meghan's outfit awesome? She insisted on wearing her "tooth fairy dress". It was a serious fight to get her to put the leggings, socks, and shirt on first. It was 12 degrees this morning. That is too cold for Texas...I want spring!

Children's Museum

Yesterday we went to the Children's Museum with friends. There was a dinosaur exhibit that Meghan loved. I thought she might be scared of the dinosaurs when they roared and moved but she just laughed at them. I tried to get a picture of Meghan and her friend looking at the camera but they were too interested in the dinosaur.

Meghan loved digging for fossils.

In the children's area she played with some tinker toys...

...and milked a cow!

Snow!!!

It snowed today! Last year when it snowed Meghan wanted nothing to do with it. This year was completely the opposite. We had to force her to come inside because her cheeks and nose were so red.

Meghan helped Kevin and I build a snowman. She was an awesome helper.

A hand covered in snow. She looks like she is going to eat it.

Nope, she's going to lick the snowman instead.

Kevin and Meghan discussing their handiwork. Notice the Oregon hat...

My Little Shutterbug

Meghan found an old point and shoot camera in the office and has become obsessed.

An almost equal obsession is her "tooth fairy dress". Anything that is a fairy is a tooth fairy in Meghan's world. I have Yo Gabba Gabba to thank for this. If I let her she would wear this dress every day.

Cinderella, Cinderella...This one is just funny. Meghan got the Windex and rag out from under the sink and began to wash the floors.

Happy New Year

Last year my New Years resolution was to complete project 365 (a picture a day for a year). In May I missed one day and then life got very busy. We moved and, and then moved again, which made it hard to keep up. This year I am going to try and make it easier on myself. My goal is to have a blog post a week that has most if not all of the pictures from the week. I don't want to commit to posting every picture because let's face it, some of them are bound to be boring.

Here are some pictures from this past week:

On Christmas Eve Meghan built a tower with her Lego's and then used it to take pictures of everyone. She was pretending to look through a viewfinder and instructing everyone to "say cheese".
It wouldn't be Christmas Eve without some cookie baking. Meghan helped find the recipe and stir the dry ingredients. When I stepped into the pantry to gather more ingredients the floor and counter ended up covered in flour. Meghan came in to tell me "me messy". Then she tried to help clean it up using a spray bottle of water and a towel. That made an even bigger mess. Oh well, at least she tried to clean it up.

Here she is checking out what Santa put in her stocking. When it came to opening presents Meghan became overwhelmed very fast. We had to keep coaxing her over to open more presents.

One of Meghan's favorite presents was her Play Doh. She loves to cook in the Play Doh kitchen. If you try to pretend eat one of her creations she will tell you "no eat Play Doh".
